Within the Harlee Family, there are many names that overlap with the names from other families within the Dillon County, South Carolina / Robeson County, North Carolina area. Many of these names are of Scottish and English derivation.

McCallum is a Scottish surname first found in Argyll where the group attained the status of Clan.
The English surname Page was first found in Sussex. One of the first settlers of this name was Robert Page in Boston in 1637.
Roberts is derived from the Welsh name Robert, which means 'bright fame'. From the Germanic elements 'hrod' meaning fame and 'beraht' meaning bright. Alternate spellings include Robert, Robarts, Ropartz, and Robberts.
Lyons is a Scottish surname. One of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants was Mathew Lyon in North Carolina with his wife Mary in 1775.
Kemp is derived from the Middle English word 'kempe' which came from the Old English 'cempa', meaning 'warrior' or 'champion'. Alternate spellings include Kempe, Kampf, and Kempf (German).
Moody is a British surname that is derived from the Old English word modig, which means 'brave'. Two of the first settlers of this name were Simon Moody in Virginia in 1635 and James Moody in Virginia in 1633.
